Fertilizer
We offer the same fertilizer to our customers that we use ourselves to nurture and grow the sod we sell.
The fertilizer is available in 10 kgs and 25 kgs bags and can be picked up at our Markham or Oro-Medonte yards or delivered if it is purchased together with a sack of soil, mulch, or any of our other products sold in sacks.
We offer a variety of different blends for each time of the year. See information below to learn more and sign up to receive reminders on when to fertilize.

What Do Fertilizer Numbers Mean?
Nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) are the three major nutrients needed by lawns. Nitrogen is the nutrient required most, although too much nitrogen can cause excessive top growth, leading to assorted problems.
Percent nitrogen (by weight) is always the first of the three numbers on the fertilizer bag, followed by phosphorus and potassium.
For example, an 18-6-12 fertilizer contains 18 percent nitrogen. This number is important because it determines how much fertilizer is needed. In most cases, a rate of 1 pound of nitrogen per 1,000 square feet is suggested for each fertilizer application to the lawn.
If high percentage nitrogen fertilizers are used, then less actual fertilizer product is needed to supply that one pound compared to fertilizers with low percent nitrogen.
What Does Each Ingredient Provide?
- 1ST # NITROGEN – FAST GREEN, THICK LAWN, STRONG STEM GROWTH
- 2ND # PHOSPHORUS – BUILD UP ROOT SYSTEM
- 3RD # POTASSIUM – STABILIZES SOIL FOR DARKNESS OF COLOUR
